A Motion Mining Method for Supporting Skill Improvement Training for Martial Arts

(in English) Skills of BUDO (Martial Arts) are tacit knowledge, therefore it is difficult to indicate key points of the skills explicitly. A proposed method, MSTBDO, extracts key motion for skillful technique from both offense motion and defense motion. Key motion can be extracted as an antecedent of correlated association rule whose consequent means success result. The method searches a tree of offense attributions combined with a tree of defense attributions for such the correlated association rules using the depth-first search and the χ2 value. We successfully extracted key motion for skillful offense technique on KARATE games using the MSTBDO.
