Until now, measured SAR is lower than calculated one in the small animal phantom is well known because of the heat transfer, when the SAR measured using the thermographic method. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the heat transfer and corrective method of the measured SAR inside a one-week-old rat phantom, which is radiated by 8-shaped loop antenna in 1.5 GHz band, using the thermographic method. At first, the heat transfer coefficient is evaluated based on the temperature measurement after electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure. As a result, the heat transfer coefficient is about the same 40 W/m/K. In addition, the measured SAR is corrected based on the temperature calculation. The result suggests the difference between corrected SAR and calculated SAR using the FDTD method is about 20% on the phantom surface. |
