This paper proposes a method for extracting groin-lymphoma in PET/CT images. In PET/CT images, tumors and the blood vessels cannot be distinguished with pixel values of CT images. It is necessary to use the shape information to distinguish them. Blood vessels have line structures that expand in the direction along body axis, and it's structure differs from the structure of tumors. Our proposed method detects the accurate region of the lymphoma that is adjacent to the blood vessel by extracting such a line structure as a blood vessel, and removing it from the tumor candidate. We applied our method to a set of real PET/CT images. In this article we report the results. |
