Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper describes the experimental performance for the test bed of a simple decision-feedback channel tracking scheme for a packet based MIMO-OFDM system. The test bed is implemented on field programmable gate array (FPGA) by 1/5 scale. The channel tracking scheme continuously estimates the channel state matrix for each subcarrier by using both received signal and replica of the transmitted signal. The estimated channel state matrices, which are estimated mutually different timings, are combined and each channel state matrix is updated.
The experimental packet error rate (PER) performances are evaluated. The experimental conditions are as follows: RF frequency is 5GHz, Zero-forcing algorithm is used for MIMO signal detection, subcarrier modulation scheme and coding rate are 16QAM and 1/2, and “required SNR for 1e-2 of PER” is used for performance evaluation . The proposed channel tracking scheme keeps the degradation of the required SNR within 1 dB when the velocity of mobile terminal is less than 45 km/h. The experimental results confirm that the proposed scheme effectively tracks the fluctuation of a MIMO channel when it is implemented on FPGA.
