We propose a high-speed inventory identification (ID) method in a radio frequency identification (RFID) system with very large number of tags. The conventional method, Frame Slotted ALOHA, takes a long time to inventory the IDs in the system because of collisions. The proposed method reduces the inventory time by dividing the inventory procedure into two parts, a send flag packets mode and a send IDs mode. We evaluated the proposed method through simulation and experimental measurements using ZigBee modules and showed that the proposed method can reduce the inventory time by 4 times. |
