A Method for Decreasing Influence of Individual Differences on Pendulum Test -- In Case of Normal Subjects --

(in English) This paper proposes a method for decreasing influence of individual differences on knee joint motions at pendulum test. First, we represent a modified pendulum test model, which is related to a leg length ratio (subject’s length/ standard length) under some bold assumptions concerned with the geometrical forms of human body and mechanical properties of muscle. Second, we define three quantities (initial value of acceleration, period of the first oscillation cycle, damping constant in the oscillation) characterizing angular acceleration curve of knee joint motion, and normalize measured acceleration curves so that each of them is extended or reduced by ratios of the three quantities with respect to standard values. The ratios can be obtained from the model by only giving the leg length ratio. Finally we confirm that the individual differences are considerably decreased.
