Investigation of parallax effect based on measured HRTFs

When a sound source is close th a listener, the angles form the source to the listener's two ears are substantially different form that to the center of the head (parallax effect). Therefore, the measured HRTFs from far distance cannot be used to control a sound image close to head or not. To investgate the parallax effet, the HRTFs measured in nearby the head was compared with the estimated HRTFs by appling the paralax effect. As a result, we found that there is a specific angle that doesn't correspond with parallax effect. |
