Input Impedance Approximations of Self-Supported Dipole Antennas With a Constant Gain Over Wide-Band

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In the previous report, a self-supported dipole antenna fed by a coaxial line, which this antenna is located over the ground, is taken up for the direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation use and then a new analysis of the input impedance and its constant gain characteristic over a wide-band had been indicated. To do an impedance matching of the dipole, the operation mechanism of its feed section should become clear. In this report, the simple representation of the input impedance is reduced from approximations. The impedance approximation is represented as a parallel circuit consists of an inductance L and a capacitance C. This representation is, moreover, verified by comparing with the previous numerical analysis and is a good indication of the relationship between the geometrical parameters, that is, the radius of the dipole and the feed gap, and the input impedance.
