IEEE 802.16d protocol aims at the BWA System with PMP topology and low-speed Subscriber Stations (SS). This System adopts 7 deferent kinds of modulation and channel coding scheme to adapt deferent kinds of PHY channels and to obtain the balance between channel quality and the transmission rate. But IEEE 802.16d protocol has not proposed detailing algorithm for link adaptation control. This paper proposes an algorithm, in which pilot symbols are added to the FCH field of the PHY-frames, Then SS estimate the carrier-to-interference plus noise ratio (CINR) through this pilot symbols and capture the character CINR of the changing channel by a simple but effective gliding window. The link adaptation algorithm proposed in the paper has the advantageous of simple, fast and effective. |
