OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) is believed to be inherently robust against multipath fading, but it is very sensitive to carrier-frequency offset,and its signal exhibits a high peak-to-average power ratio. In this paper, quasi-orthogonal time division multiplexing(QOTDM) is presented, which also seems to be immune to multipath fading if combined with an adaptive channel equalizer, but has no such two drawbacks as OFDM. Some comparison between QOTDM and OFDM is made. An adaptive equalizer is also exploited to the QOTDM system to improve its robustness against multipath fading. Computer simulation results indicate that the proposed QOTDM system can achieve high performance with simple implementation |
