A Study on necessary numbers of plaintexts for Cache Attack with Average Method

(in English) 2002, Tsunoo et al. proposed a cache attack using fluctuation of encryption times of a software implemented
on CPU with cache. In general, cache attack seems to be applied for any ciphers which have substitution boxes. The original
cache attack uses differences between plaintext bytes for its attack equation. Average method is a one of the method witch
uses averages of encryption times will change noticed two S-boxes are same or not. In this paper, we analyized distribution
of encryption times and delived thoretically necessary numbers of plaintexts. We also compared with theoretical result and
experimental result .
