Fingerprint Verification Using Reliability Evaluation of Non-matching Minutiae

(in English) The fingerprint identification system is widespread most as the biometric technology with good balance of the performance and the cost. We report that we can improve the distinction performance of imposter fingerprint by evaluating the amount of “true” non-match minutiae, that means whether it is a true minutiae that does not have corresponding true minutiae of the other probed fingerprint. We also show experimental result that only the false match error rate is decreased without a drop of the false non-match error rate evaluation in contrast to conventional techniques that uniformly treat all non-match minutiae.
