Improvement of Power Consumption and Response Time in Wireless Home Network

(in English) In this paper, improvement of power consumption and response time is proposed dedicatedly for wireless home network. Existing network layer protocol over IEEE 802.15.4 suffers from long response time of moving devices and large transmission power. Thus, we introduce different classes of devices: mobile node and fixture node. Using these device classes, we propose a MAC broadcasting mode for improving response time and a transmission power control method based on LQI (Link Quality Indication). Experimental results show proposed method can reduce response time of moving device and the transmission power.
