Design of Access Point with Multiple Interfaces for Multihop Wireless Networks

As the wireless network grows and evolves, the enhancement of its coverage
area is required to provide accessibility and mobility.
For this purpose, multihop wireless networks can be constructed
by some wireless Access Points (APs),
one of which can forward arrival packets to the other APs over wireless link.
In order to develop multihop wireless networks,
many issues remain to be addressed, especially in the significant throughput
degradation caused by channel interferences, NAV (Network Allocation Vector)
blocking, and so on. Therefore, in this paper, we design the AP which has
multiple interfaces, one is for transmitting, another is for receiving,
for constructing the multihop wireless network.
And then, we show its architectural design and channel management method.
Furthermore, we show the effectiveness of our proposal through some
simulation results. |
