Space-Time-Frequency Diversity Hybrid ARQ for MIMO-OFDM systems

(in English) MIMO-OFDM is a promising technology for supporting high data rate communication. Meanwhile, HARQ is known as an effective method to ensure highly reliable communications. The challenges on HARQ for MIMO-OFDM system lie on coping with multidimensional resource and large feedback. In this paper, space-time-frequency diversity hybrid ARQ (STF-HARQ) based on Chase Combining is proposed to explore the multidimensional resource efficiently. Moreover, its subcarrier grouping scheme is proposed to reduce the feedback information size. Simulation results demonstrate that compared with the conventional HARQ schemes, the proposed schemes show lower packet error rate and higher throughput on the same condition of feedback information size. We also evaluate STF-HARQ based on Incremental Redundancy. The simulation results show that it can greatly decrease the packet error rate without loss of throughput.
