BER Performance in MIMO Spatial Multiplexing Systems with Antenna Correlation

The rapidly increasing number of users and services in mobile communications requires efficient usage of the available frequency band. MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) systems are one possible candidate to meet these demands. In this investigation, we discuss BER performance with antenna correlation for 2x2 MIMO spatial multiplexing systems in NLOS (non line-of-sight) and LOS (line-of-sight) environments. First, we discuss modeling of MIMO systems with antenna correlation in NLOS and LOS environments and BER performance with antenna correlation for 2x2 MIMO spatial multiplexing in NLOS and LOS environments is computed by the simulation. As a result of BER performances, it can be confirmed that antenna correlation greatly affects BER performance in both NLOS and LOS environments. |
