In this research, we propose a method for reconstructing the shape of a target object by analyzing a sequence of its images taken with rotating it on a stage.
The proposed method computes a measure that describes how likely an arbitrary point in the scene is to be contained by the surface of the target object.
The measure is defined on the basis of the constant intensity principle, namely, the fact that the intensity of any surface point in each image is a constant whenever it is visible in that image.
Then the model of the target object is obtained by thresholding the measure for each gridpoint in the scene.
This paper also shows the effectiveness of the proposed method by showing the results obtained by applying it to some real-world objects. |
