Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In impulse-based UWB communications, if coherent detection is used as the demodulation scheme, waveform distortions of transmitted and received pulses caused by antennas induce degradations of the communication performance. In order to avoid these effects, it is necessary that radiation characteristics of the antenna be constant over the wide frequency range. Self-complementary UWB printed dipole antenna that we have proposed has the problem of frequency dependent radiation characteristics. In this paper, we propose design guidelines for reducing the frequency dependency of radiation characteristics of the UWB printed dipole antenna. In order to verify the effectiveness of these guidelines, we used cross-correlation between template and received waveforms to observe the wave distortions caused by these antennas.
