Performance of Hybrid ARQ with Packet Combining for Evolved UTRA and UTRAN

(in English) Evolved UTRA and UTRAN has emerged as a next generation mobile communication system.
Hybrid ARQ with packet combining (HARQ with PC) is essential for this system as a well effective retransmission scheme.
However, how the HARQ with PC over the Evolved UTRA and UTRAN has an effect on the TCP performance is not clarified yet.
Thus, in this paper, we examine the TCP performance when using HARQ with PC, comparing to a conventional retransmission scheme (Basic HARQ).
The HARQ with PC is shown through performance evaluation to improve TCP throughputs of users in bad reception conditions, achieving the fair utilization of wireless resource between users.
