Pseudo Adaptive Methods
Noriki Amano (JAIST)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) An adaptive method means a method which is dynamically selected epending on the types of its arguments and the runtime situations. In this paper, we propose a technique for enabling adaptive methods in a pseudo way by using middleware. We developed a middleware system named Ami. Without extending Java language and its virtual machines, Ami makes adaptive methods of Java programs possible in a pseudo way as if they were odinary methods. Such pseudo adaptive methods based on Ami can be also invoked from remote computers.
