Calculation of radiation from ETC mobile antennas taking the effects of windshields into account

(in English) ETC mobile antennas are usually placed on a dashboard in a car and wireless communication is performed through the windshield.
Therefore, the windshields affect the radiation from the antennas.
However, the details of the influence of windshields have not been snfficiently investigated.
This paper presents a simple calculation method of radiation from the antennas which takes account of the effects of windshields. In this method, the FDTD method is used to calculate near fields around antennas first and then far fields passing through the windshields are calculated next.
The feasibility of the present method is verified by comparing numerical results with experimental ones.
