Evaluation of Robustness of Soft State for Data Management in Distributed Environment

(in English) Soft state is widely used as the technique for the maintenance of state and is known to have robustness against the failure. Recently, soft state is applied to data management in distributed environment, e.g. file index management in DataGrid. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of soft state applied to data management in distributed environment using analytical models. We show the quantitive result that soft state has robustness under heavy access condition.
