Anomaly Detection Mechanism installed in Dynamic Reconfigurable Processor

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The processors for network security request both large-throughput and flexibility to update anomaly prevention algorithm. To realize both of them at the same time, Dynamic Reconfigurable Processor (DRP) is the most attainable one. In our research, we designed the anomaly prevention mechanism using DRP, which can analyze all packets. Our mechanism prevents three kinds of anomalies (DDoS/Worm/P2P traffic). In our simulation, we obtained the prospect that our mechanism can achieve the throughput of 80 M packets per-second in use of three DRPs (391 execution elements use). Moreover, in our prototype, we confirmed that our proposed mechanism achieved the throughput 1500 times earlier (0.02 second) than that of legacy mechanism which uses packet sampling method.
