Iterative Modified QRM-MLD Based on CRC Check for OFDM MIMO Multiplexing

(in English) QR decomposition associated with M-algorithm to maximum likelihood detection (MLD) is one of the decoding methods in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) multiplexing. Recently, we proposed iterative QRM-MLD with pilot assisted decision feedback channel estimation and showed that the better performance can be obtained compared to that of QRM-MLD with conventional pilot assisted channel estimation. However, in the previously proposed iterative QRM-MLD, as the number of iterations increases, the computational complexity also increases. Thus, in this paper, to further improve the performance while keeping the computational complexity low, we propose modified QRM-MLD based on cyclic redundancy check (CRC) codes. In the proposed method, after the transmitted signals are ranked according to their CRC check results and signal-to-interference plus noise power ratios (SINRs), signal detection is performed using modified M-algorithm. The numbers of iterations and surviving symbol replica candidates are adaptively controlled based on CRC check results. In this paper, the performance of the proposed modified QRM-MLD is evaluated by computer simulation.
