Asymmetry of printed pattern wires in differential mode excitation and common-mode current

(in English) In printed circuit boards, a two-trace line is gradually used for reducing radiated emissions. Since such a transmission-line system is ocassionally asymmetrical, a so-called common-mode current may be generated.
In this paper, an equivalent expression in a network function for differential and common modes at an input terminal is applyed to estimate the common-mode current at the input terminal of differential-mode excitation port. From this expression, the mechanism of the induced common-mode current is made clear. The two-trace line can be analyzed using a modal-analysis method for transmission line theory and also taking account of source-terminal and load-terminal networks. And the common-mode current in an arbitrary point is obtained from the network function.
