Range Measurement using symmetrical traiangular modulation signal in ultrasonic FMCW system

(in English) This paper describes a new ultrasonic FMCW ranging system for medical imaging. Reduced peak power by FMCW modulation simplifies transmitter configuration, significantly. Instantaneous frequency of FM signal varies along the equal sides of isosceles triangle. Demodulated signal spectrum is estimated analytically with the aid of newly developed method by which closed form solution for Fresnell intergal is obtained. It has been confirmed that the calculated spectrum agrees well with the measured one in its dependence on time delay corresponding to distance between the target and the system.
