Frequency-domain equalization (FDE) is a well-known technique to overcome the adverse effect of the frequency selective fading. To further improve the transmission performance, the transmit diversity technique can be used. Cyclic delay transmit diversity (CDTD) increases the equivalent number of paths and hence gets the frequency diversity gain. Also space-time transmit diversity (STTD) can obtain the antenna diversity gain and improve the average bit error rate (BER) performance. In this paper, we propose a space-time cyclic delay transmit diversity (STCDTD), which combines STTD and CDTD, and apply it to orthogonal multi-code direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) using FDE. We evaluate the BER performance by computer simulation and compare with CDTD and STTD. |
