Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We conducted a survey on requirement for multimedia learning materials and three-dimensional (3D) contents at lectures in higher education, before we develop 3D contents. We targeted the survey on lecturers or professors who were contacted through officers of the inter-university satellite network. The survey was conducted with unsigned and random samples. The results showed that a need of multimedia learning materials was recognized and they have been used in practice. Although 3D contents are required, they have not widely used due to limitation based on the content authoring. Overall, the lecturers and professors have expectation for multimedia learning materials and 3D contents, but they do not believe that multimedia learning materials and 3D contents always improve learning effectiveness. On the contrary, there are lecturers and professors who are doubtful about effect on multimedia learning materials and do not have positive opinions on their use taking the effort into account. We also have negative opinions about 3D contents at the open-ended comments, which told us that we should leave students to do the 3D imagine, based on educational concern. The characteristics and the current state are discussed on multimedia learning materials.
