Online Handwriting Recognition Selecting Hierarchical Spatial Relationship of Subcharacters

(in English) In this paper, we propose online handwriting recognition method to evaluate the spatial relationship of subcharacters. In this approach, we assume that the distortions of spatial features are dependent on the hierarchy of characters. Accordingly, we selectively evaluate hierarchical spatial relationship of subcharacters. Experiments of online handwriting Kanji character recognition with a lexicon of 1016 elementary characters revealed that our proposed approach reduced the error rate by 4.1% for cursive handwritings, and 4.3% for blind-handwritings.
