A Proposal of JPEG2000 Based Real-time Scalable Video Communication System

(in English) On video communication over the ubiquitous IP network environment, where various capable equipments are interconnected, it is required that a system which provides spatial and/or bitrate scalability and a QoS control mechanism according to the network condition. In this report we propose a JPEG2000 based real-time scalable video communication system from the point of scalability and flexible QoS control. To realize QoS with real-time constraint, a video communication system architecture which consists of RTP format for JPEG2000 video streaming, scalable delivery, rate control and ARQ is described and the performance evaluation result of the prototype is shown.
