A construction method of synchronous reversible cellular automata using simple asynchronous logic elements

(in English) We proposed a new method of realizing a synchronous reversible partitioned cellular automaton concisely, which is computation-universal, by an asynchronous logic circuit. The circuit consists only of two kinds of simple asynchronous elements called a rotary element and a conservative join. Each cell of a reversible partitioned cellular automaton can be regarded as a reversible sequential machine, and its main part is constructed systematically using rotary elements only. The exchange of signals and the synchronization with neighbor cells are controlled by a simple circuit consisting of conservative joins and rotary elements. In this way, a synchronous reversible partitioned cellular automaton can be implemented by a delay-insensitive circuit that needs no clock signal.
