(in English) As the main feature of software defined radio communication systems, there is the upgrade function of softwares by over-the-air download. If the software to be downloaded is eavesdropped, it may be dangerous for a wireless terminal to be copied easily. It is, therefore, more important for downloaded softwares from base stations to wireless terminals to be encrypted than existing wireless communication systems. A secure communication scheme that uses the random fluctuation of the natural environment of communication channels is studied. We have been developing a novel secret key generation and agreement scheme that uses the fluctuation of channel characteristics with an Espar (Electronically Steerable Parasitic Array Radiator) antenna, which has been studied as a variable directional antenna for consumers. We demonstrate the prototype system in which the IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee chip is mounted.
