Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The purpose of this study is to determine if combination of adequate postprocessing techniques and thin section image data from MDCT could improve the accuracy of detection of lung nodules. Readers' performance for the nodule detection was evaluated by ROC analysis. The combination of postprocessing techniques (STS-MIP or STS-VR) using thin section image data from MDCT improved the accuracy of detection of lung nodules significantly. There is no statistically significant difference in the detectability of lung nodules between the scrolling through thin section images and the scrolling through thick section images.
