Proportional QoS Control Method in IEEE 802.11e Wireless LAN

(in English) Recently, wireless LAN is achieving remarkable growth, and maturity. On the other hand, the Internet is in progress to be broadband, so in the future, the demand for the multimedia communication services which use video and voice will be expected to rise. In this case, it is indispensable to guarantee QoS. Therefore, even in wireless LAN environment, the mechanism of QoS guarantee must be realized. So far, the EDCF is proposed to control the QoS in wireless LAN. However, the EDCF does not always perform optimal QoS control because the EDCF lacks the mechanism to adapt to the various network condition. In this paper, we focus on Proportional Differentiation Model and propose the QoS control method which enables a more flexible control according to network condition. We evaluate the performance of proposal method and show the effectiveness.
