In electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) assessment or the controlling of the radiation characteristics of wireless mobile devices, the current distribution on the chassis is an important parameter. In particular, current phase distribution is available for estimation of the near and far electromagnetic fields. This paper investigates a measurement system employing magneto optical (MO) probe to estimate the current phase distribution. In order to achieve stable measurement with a high level of accuracy, a measurement system adopts the polarization stabilized MO probe that we have proposed. The current phase distribution on the meander line antenna and patch array antenna is estimated based on the measured magnetic field phase value. The estimation results from this measurement system are in good agreement with those from a numerical simulation. |
