A Planar Circuit Filter with Arbitrarily-Shaped Elements Generated by Genetic Algorithm

(in English) We have already developed frequency selective surfaces for both spatial-filter and waveguide-filter applications by optimizing an arbitrarily-shaped resonant element using a genetic algorithm (GA). Also, the GA-optimization method for printed-circuit applications has been proposed, but the detail investigation has not been made. This paper presents three configurations of a bandpass filter obtained by the GA optimization of a printed circuit having arbitrarily-shaped elements. As a result, it is shown that the filters constructed by novel elements realize both a passband and attenuation poles on each side of a passband. The effectiveness of the present filters is proved by the comparison between the calculated and the measured results.
