Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper proposes a new method for active noise control (ANC) systems with online secondary path modeling. Here the control filter is adapted by using same error signal as used in the adaptation of the modeling filter. The modeling filter is adapted using a variable step size (VSS) LMS algorithm already proposed by authors. Furthermore, the modeling filter is excited by an additive random noise with variable power. The basic idea of VSS and varying noise power stems from the fact that the disturbance signal in the desired response of the modeling filter is decreasing in nature, (ideally) converging to zero. Initially, when the disturbance signal is large, a small step size and large additive noise are used in the modeling filter. Later, when ANC system converges, step size is increased and the variance of the additive random noise is decreased. The computer simulations show that the proposed method gives best performance among the existing methods.
