Series coupling of microring resonators with differenct ring radii is effective to expand the FSR to be greater than 20nm owing to the Vernier effect. In this study, we analyzed the dependence of filter response of quadruple series coupled microring with two different ring radii on the arrangement of ring radii. As a result, it was found that the asymmetric arrangement can reduce the crosstalk compared with symmetric and antisymmetric arrangements, and the physical meaning of the optimum arrangement was made clear. In addition, the dependence of adjacent channel crosstalk on the FSR expansion factor was obtained. |
