Noise figure of parametric wavelength conversion

(in English) An analytical model for noise accumulation in parametric wavelength conversion chain system is proposed. Signal to noise electrical power ratio (SNR) is analytically shown as a function of node number k in transparent nodes cascade system, which consists of optical amplifiers, parametric wavelength conversion, and several loss elements including optical fiber transmission, with several parameters of pump excess noise bp, pump light photon number average <np>, input signal photon number average <n0>, spontaneous coefficient of optical amplifier nsp. SNR degrade inversely proportional to node number k with a coefficient defined by NF=2nsp+bp<n0>/<np> in the condition of k lower than <n0>/Bo. The proposed analytical model was experimentally evaluated through the noise figure measurement using Er doped optical fiber amplifier and Quasi-Phase-Matched Lithium Niobate waveguide parametric wavelength conversion.
