(in English) Networks consisting of wireless mobile nodes have been investigated as wireless mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). In MANETs, the correlation between movement of nodes is assumed low, and thus the protocols are designed to transfer data using spontaneous movement of nodes. In addition, routing protocols are designed to maintain a complete path between a source and a destination. In contrast, networks consisting of multiple mobile robots with short-range wireless communications has opposite characteristics: intentional mobility and disconnection tolerance. These characteristics demand designing a network architecture different from protocols for MANETs. In this talk, wireless networks utilizing mobility is first classified, a network utilizing human’s behavior and a network using multiple mobile robots are explained, and finally CRUISE/r and WISER projects conducted at Tokyo Denki University are introduced.
