Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We developed satellite communication system based on multi-carrier/multi-rate modem technology and the system can manage several commnunication services in an integrated fashion which provide relay lines between mainland and isolated islands and provide access lines for specially installed telephone or web traffic in a time of disaster such as earthquakes.
In this system, common functions are installed as platform, and each service is run on this platform. Hereby, this system realizes transponder sharing between several services and handles new services flexibly in future demands.
And in this paper, we confirm that VoIP technology is applicable for voice call by estimating influences of satellite link status and network delay time in the end-end call quality.
