As a new standoff landmine detector system, ground penetrating radar systems with plasma channels, which were generated by a high power laser, were proposed. The feasibility of the systems was evaluated by the electromagnetic simulations.
From the results, it was confirmed that the proposed systems were operative in viewpoints such as the propagation loss, the penetration into the ground, and the resolution, if a straight conductor under the ideal condition was generated by the plasma channels. |
