(in English) Bump maps are often used to achieve more realistic in rendering graphic models. Recently, the number of bump maps and their data size are getting larger. Therefore, we have developed an efficient and effective compression algorithm based on the 3Dc and also optimized conventional 2D image compression algorithms such as JPEG, vector quantization, and so on. In addition, we have developed an evaluation measure of the lossy compressed bump maps to estimate the quality of the final 3D image rendered with them.
