In services of Digital Broadcasting and Internet, various types of multimedia information, including video, audio and data, are packetized and multiplexed into a single stream. We propose a new multiplexing control method based on the access unit priority, instead of media priority, to achieve efficient use of transmission bandwidth. In the proposed method, each access unit of multimedia streams has its own priority for multiplexing. The multiplexer decides the access units to be multiplexed based on their priorities and the amount of data to be transmitted in a certain period. |
