This paper investigates the effect of frequency-domain scheduling method on the outage probability of Real-Time (RT) traffic and on the sector throughput of Non-real-time (NRT) traffic considering delay requirements of traffics in the forward link Spread Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) packet wireless access. The investigations assume 100-MHz total channel bandwidth, in which the number of frequency blocks (i.e., chunks) is parameterized as BFreq = 1, 16, and 64. Computer simulation results elucidate that when BFreq is 16 and 64, the outage probability at the average residual packet loss rate (PLR) of 10-3 of the RT traffic is reduced by more than 50 % and 30 % and the sector throughput of NRT traffic user is increased by approximately 30 % and 10 %, respectively, compared to the corresponding values with BFreq = 1. |
