A method for the performance analysis of integrated application services -- Simulating the execution of integrated application services coordinated by workflow-driven broker-servers --
Akira Kawaguchi, Hiroshi Yamada (NTT)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) To improve and speed up business processes and decrease the cost, the EAI (enterprise application integration) and Web service technologies are adopted. Then we usually consider the hub and spoke architecture, where the broker server works as the hub. The broker server must understand the business process in the integrated service and invoke the appropriate application service for the respective phases of the workflow activity to implement the designed business process. In such a system, traffic generation by each application is governed by the designed business process, so traffic patterns generated by applications working together are correlated with each other.
In this paper, we propose a methodology for evaluating the performance of generic EAI systems of the kind described above and show the simulation environment to simulate the service integrated by the broker server.
