Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recent progress of home networks is increasing the interest for high speed power-line communication (PLC) because this does not need the new communication line. However, transmission characteristic of power-line has not been cleared. Especially, many kind of appliances are connected with power lines and the input impedance at the AC mains port changes with the operation states. Thus, it is necessary to investigate the relations between the transmission characteristics and the appliances operation states. In this paper, the transmission characteristics of power lines is investigated in the frequency ranges from 2 MHz to 30 MHz where a high speed PLC uses. The appliances were modeled for each states based on the measurement results. The transmission characteristics were investigated from both the analysis based on the model and the measurement using the equivalent circuit. The results indicated that the deviation of the transmission loss resulting from the appliance states is within around 10 dB.
