Track While Scan (TWS) algorithm is known as one of the detection techniques of low SNR targets. This algorithm can detect the weak target signals by setting the threshold lower than that of the conventional method and suppress false alarms using association gate which is predicted to each signal for every scan. However, the conventional TWS algorithm has a problem that the false tracks increase according to increase of false alarms because only position information is used for the association. To overcome this problem, we proposed the TWS algorithm which suppress the false alarms by using information of both position and Doppler frequency of the signal.
In this study, we propose the new TWS algorithm using information of both position and Doppler frequency in combination with signal intensity for the purpose of further reduction of false tracks, and evaluate the performance by computer simulation. We show that the proposed algorithm reduces the false tracks compared to the conventional method using the information of both position and Doppler frequency. |
