A 1V supply successive approximation ADC with rail-to-rail input voltage range

(in English) An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is an essential circuit block for the mixed-signal system-on-chip (SoC), which integrated analog circuit and large digital circuits. However, to reduce the power dissipation of the logic circuit,
a threshold voltage of CMOS devices can not be set to the low-voltage under the continued down-scaling of power supply voltage of the system. Therefore, it is difficult to operate the conventional ADC which includes analog switches, due to the increase of switch resistance. In this paper, we proposed a low supply-voltage successive-approximation ADC which implemented by a capacitor-array with grounded switches and a switched-opamp witha rail-to-rail input voltage range. The proposed ADC achieved input voltage range from 0.05V to 0.9V, 10bit accuracy and 400ksps conversion rate at a supply voltage of 1V.
