High rejection optical filter utilizing fiber Bragg grating

(in English) High rejection filter utilizing fiber Bragg gratings whose transmission is less than -50dB are studied. Two different chirp rate gratings are fabricated, one is 0.67nm/mm and the other is 0.95nm/mm. It is found that transmission growth of both gratings saturate before prediction by numerical calculation and transmission of those can not reach below –50dB. The saturation comes from the mode field mismatch because of increased refractive index at the grating part. To avoid the mismatch, the both edges of the grating are apodized and transmission less than -50dB is achieved.
